Utah is experiencing population growth at a tremendous rate. As people from all over the nation choose to make Utah their home, promoting balanced growth in our community is paramount in developing the land where we live.  Too often community leaders are being ignored by state legislators. This spawns conflicts of interest where the city planners instead work with developers. These alliances can compromise safety and citizens’ desires by changing zoning ordinances.  As your senator, I will communicate regularly with the mayors and members of the various city councils in Orem, Provo, Vineyard, Lindon, and Pleasant Grove, and I will support legislation that will not override or ignore this important approach.
